One
of the Daytona Area's earliest condominiums, the Shoreham's classic
architecture beautifies Ormond Beach.
Our company has been trusted with various construction projects for
over 10 years. 1997 saw Shoreham's first major restoration which
involved removal and replacement of damaged concrete under the
engineer's direction, balcony deck coatings and waterproofing adopting a
new paint scheme.
Further projects included the restoration and waterproofing of the
penthouse decks, the parking deck and control joints.
During 2005 a second phase of restoration was conducted, which
resulted in minor damage being uncovered compared to the volume
uncovered in 1997. This has been very encouraging, showing that
state of the art products and procedures have a major payback to the
condominium. The second phase also uncovered the need to replace
some of the original 30+ year old doors.
2006 saw the removal of the walkway carpets which revealed a
restoration need. The board recommended that all walkways should
be waterproofed prior to the reinstallation of carpet. A wise move
from a savvy board of directors.
In 2010 or thereabouts the next concrete restoration phase should be
an extremely minor element of the regular waterproofing
project.
The management, board and maintenance have done everything possible
to help us expedite this sometimes difficult project and we thank them
for the support.
